The improvement in earnings was driven by better operating efficiencies, healthier freight realizations, and a strategic focus on higher-margin business segments.
The company's revenue from operations increased to ₹3,221.11 crore (₹3,22,111 lakh) from ₹3,160.95 crore (₹3,16,095 lakh) in the previous financial year, while total income rose to ₹3,244.78 crore.
VRL Logistics reported a significant improvement in operating profitability during FY26. EBITDA increased to ₹673.89 crore, compared with ₹598.41 crore in FY25, resulting in an improvement in EBITDA margin to 20.77%, up from 18.79% a year earlier.
According to the company, the higher margins were primarily driven by the discontinuation of low-margin business activities, improved freight realizations, and disciplined cost management across operations.
The net profit margin also improved to 7.35%, compared with 5.79% in FY25, reflecting stronger operational performance despite relatively stable finance costs.

Finance costs remained largely unchanged at ₹94.98 crore, compared with ₹94.83 crore in the previous financial year.
During FY26, the Board of Directors held five meetings, and the company confirmed compliance with Secretarial Standards issued by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) as well as applicable SEBI regulations.
VRL Logistics stated that there were no instances of regulatory non-compliance or penalties during the financial year. The statutory auditors identified revenue recognition as a key audit matter due to the high transaction volume and decentralized nature of the company's operations.
