The stock touched Rs 2,121 during the session. BEML's shares have gained 4.8% over the past month and 11.5% so far in 2026, according to market data cited in the report.
The order from NHSRCL covers high speed rolling stock and related works for the Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor. BEML said the order was received in the normal course of business.
The contract adds to BEML's railway business and expands its involvement in India's high speed rail programme.
BEML has previously worked on high speed trainsets for the Mumbai Ahmedabad corridor. In 2024, BEML and Medha Servo Drives received an Rs 866 crore contract for designing, manufacturing and commissioning two eight car high speed trainsets.
The earlier trainsets were designed for a maximum speed of 280 kmph and an operational speed of 250 kmph. The latest order further increases BEML's role in the project.
BEML Chairman and Managing Director Shantanu Roy said last month that the company was targeting around Rs 20,000 crore in order inflows during the current financial year, subject to tender finalisation.
The company has also identified order prospects worth more than Rs 40,000 crore across rail and metro, mining, defence, construction and exports.
Investors will track execution of the new NHSRCL contract, future railway orders, BEML's order inflows and its financial performance. The company also expects around 30% revenue growth for the current fiscal, according to comments reported last month.
