Urban Company shares rose around 6% on August 24 after Kent RO agreed before the Delhi High Court to withdraw advertisements and social media content that Urban Company had alleged contained false and misleading claims about its Native water purifiers.
The development followed a defamation and disparagement suit filed by Urban Company against Kent RO Systems. The dispute centres on claims surrounding the two-year filter life and two-year service life offered on several Native purifier models, including M0, M1, M2, M1 Pro and M2 Pro.

Urban Company shares were trading around Rs 168.18 at 10:30 am on August 24, gaining approximately 6% during the session. The stock has also extended its recent positive momentum, rising in seven of the previous eight sessions and gaining nearly 20% over that period.
The latest move came after the company disclosed details of the legal proceedings involving Kent RO and its advertising campaign. The development has drawn investor attention because the dispute involves Urban Company's water purifier business and the marketing claims surrounding its Native product range.
Urban Company filed its suit before the Delhi High Court on August 11, 2026, alleging that Kent RO had launched a concerted advertising campaign targeting features offered by Native water purifiers.
According to Urban Company, the campaign included advertisements and social media content distributed through various influencers. The company alleged that the campaign made false and misleading claims regarding the two-year filter life and two-year service life features of its Native M0, M1, M2, M1 Pro and M2 Pro models.
The dispute was heard by the Delhi High Court on August 12. Following the hearing, Kent RO made a statement before the court agreeing to remove the advertisements that were the subject of the lawsuit.
Kent RO also agreed not to publish or distribute advertisements or promotional content making the same or similar claims about water purifiers offering a two-year filter life or two-year no-servicing feature that would disparage Urban Company.
Urban Company said Kent RO's advertisements allegedly described the two-year filter-life and service-life features of Native water purifiers as a "marketing gimmick". The company also alleged that the advertisements described the use of the products as unsafe and risky for consumers.
The allegations were made in relation to advertising and social media campaigns that Urban Company said targeted its Native purifier offerings. Kent RO's decision to withdraw the disputed material has now become an important development in the ongoing dispute.
As part of the undertaking before the Delhi High Court, Kent RO has been asked to remove the advertisements and related social media content within 15 days from August 12, 2026.
The undertaking also covers future advertising or promotional content making the same or similar claims against Urban Company.
The legal development has provided a positive trigger for Urban Company shares as investors assess the potential impact on the company's Native purifier business and brand positioning.
The company's Native range is part of its broader expansion beyond home-service bookings. Any reduction in negative advertising around its products could help limit potential reputational pressure, although the longer-term impact will depend on consumer demand, competition and the company's execution in the water purifier market.
Urban Company shares have shown strong momentum in recent sessions, with the stock gaining nearly 20% across seven of the previous eight sessions. The latest 6% rise adds to that upward move and puts the stock firmly on investors' radar.
For investors tracking the Indian stock market, the key factors to watch include Urban Company's Native purifier sales, competitive positioning, consumer response to its two-year filter and service features, and developments in the legal dispute with Kent RO.
